Results – Instrument self-evaluation
SUSTAINET commissioned the creation of a self-evaluation tool by the
Centre for Advanced Training in Rural Development (SLE) at the Humboldt University of Berlin. The guidelines
for self-evaluation were formulated in
collaboration with network partners in India.
These self-evaluation guidelines have been adopted by all participating local partner organisations as the basis for
documenting the selected good agricultural practices. Documentation of these projects is
an important step in bringing
these GAPs to wider public attention, disseminating them and using them for political lobbying.
The local partners' self-evaluation of project experiences and the assessment of scaling-up potential of the individual
projects took place in the pilot countries India, Tanzania / Kenya and Peru / Bolivia. The project approaches of the individual
organisations can vary considerably. They range from highly technical solutions to complex support instruments for the
agricultural sector.
Analysis of the good practices involves working through and evaluating the following aspects, among others:
- Project structure
- Advisory approach
- Agricultural techniques
- Local site conditions
- External framework conditions
- Project impacts
- Instruments for scaling up
